What is Women in Project Management (WiPM)?
Women in Project Management (WiPM) is a community-driven initiative dedicated to supporting women and people who identify as women who are working in, transitioning into, or aspiring toward project management roles. WiPM creates opportunities for connection, mentorship, learning, and professional growth through events, shared experiences, and peer support.
Our focus is on building confidence, developing leadership skills, and increasing visibility for women and people who identify as women in project management across Newfoundland and Labrador.
Why We Exist
Many women and people who identify as women are already managing projects in their workplaces but often lack formal titles, access to certification pathways, mentorship, or professional networks. Systemic barriers, career interruptions, confidence gaps, and limited representation can make advancement feel out of reach.
WiPM exists to help bridge this gap.
By creating a supportive and inclusive space, we aim to:
- Provide mentorship and guidance at every career stage
- Encourage professional development and certification
- Foster meaningful connections within the local PM community
- Amplify voices and increase representation in leadership
- Create opportunities for learning, collaboration, and growth
Similar groups in other provinces have shown how powerful community can be. WiPM brings that same support network to Newfoundland and Labrador.
Get Involved
Whether you are looking for mentorship, professional growth, or a supportive community, WiPM offers a place to connect and thrive.
Ways to get involved:
- Join our community
- Attend events and workshops
- Become a mentor or mentee

Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive project management community.
Membership & Accessibility
WiPM is committed to removing barriers to participation. The group is free for PMINL members, and non-members are welcome to join with access to free webinars pass for 1 year and reduced-cost to in-person events. Our goal is to ensure that cost is not a barrier for women and people who identify as women to connect, learn, and grow within the project management community.
By offering accessible programming, we aim to create an inclusive space where everyone can participate, build confidence, and advance their careers, regardless of membership status or financial circumstances.
