Positions Open for Election

Director of Growth

Term: 2-year term starting 1 January 2027

This is a new position for 2027 and will combine the roles of Director of Outreach and Director of Sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with corporate entities, academic institutions, local colleges and universities, and other professional associations to promote awareness of the Chapter in the community.
  • Manage the Chapter’s approved Outreach budget, in cooperation with the Director of Finance.
  • Plan and execute outreach programs to promote project management in the community.
  • Plan and execute programs in academic institutions to foster student interest in project management.
  • Liaise with other professional associations to develop and execute programs that promote the image of the Chapter and project management as a profession.
  • Develop sponsorship packages that appeal to new and existing sponsors.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with sponsors.
  • Manage the Chapter’s approved Sponsorship budget, in cooperation with the Director of Finance.
  • Act as a key participant in large event planning committees.
  • Solicit public and private organizations for sponsorship engagement.
  • Manage and execute the terms of sponsorship packages.
  • Work with the Board to ensure terms of sponsorship agreements are fulfilled.
  • Participate in other Board committees as required.
  • Utilize volunteers as needed to execute the responsibilities of this role.
  • Collaborate with the Treasurer to ensure accurate invoicing and payment tracking for sponsorship agreements.
  • Monitor sponsorship performance and provide regular reports to the Board on engagement and revenue outcomes.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to promote sponsorship opportunities and recognize sponsors across PMI-NL channels.
  • Identify innovative sponsorship models and opportunities to enhance value for both sponsors and PMI-NL.
  • Supervise and mentor the Associate Director of Outreach and the Associate Director of Sponsorship.

Qualifications / Personal Attributes

  • Friendly, enthusiastic, energetic, and positive attitude.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Experience developing and implementing educational and/or outreach programs.
  • Experience with marketing and/or sponsorship activities.

Must-Have Skills / Personal Attributes

  • Training, education, certification, or experience demonstrating in-depth knowledge of outreach strategies and tools.
  • Proven organizational and project management/coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Previous experience on a Board of Directors.
  • Previous experience with a non-profit corporation.
  • Previous experience in a volunteer position.

PMI-NL Qualifications

  • Must be a member of PMI in good standing.
  • Must be a member of PMI Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter in good standing.
  • Must be able to attend monthly meetings virtually or in person in St. John’s.

Director of Administration

Term: 2-year term

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative duties for Board meetings, the Annual General Meeting, and other Chapter business.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and invitations.
  • Record and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Update Chapter governance documents with approved changes.
  • Manage internal and external correspondence.
  • Assist the President and Vice-President with additional tasks as required.
  • Participate in special committees and working groups as needed.
  • Supervise and mentor the Associate Director of Administration, as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Experience working as a member of a team.
  • Experience working in an office environment.
  • Experience managing and scheduling meetings.

Must-Have Skills / Personal Attributes

  • Proficiency in office management tools, such as MS Office or Google Suite.
  • Initiative and self-starter mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Previous experience on a Board of Directors.
  • Previous experience working with a non-profit organization.
  • Previous experience working in a volunteer position.

PMI-NL Qualifications

  • Must be a member of PMI in good standing.
  • Must be a member of PMI Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter in good standing.
  • Must be able to attend monthly meetings virtually or in person in St. John’s.

Director of Technology

Term: 2-year term

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain the PMI-NL website.
  • Conduct monthly website reviews to remove out-of-date content.
  • Add and update website content, including events, news, blog posts, training courses, collaborations, symposium forms, registration forms, and resource catalogues.
  • Ensure content follows PMI-NL branding standards and web formatting guidelines.
  • Maintain and administer the PMI-NL Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Manage licenses, group email assignments, and access provisioning.
  • Support online events and webinars in Microsoft Teams.
  • Manage technical subscriptions including Canva, MailChimp, website hosting, and Copilot.
  • Provide technical support to the Board and volunteers.
  • Assist with password resets, MFA, app access, meeting connectivity, audio setup, screen sharing, and webinar issues.
  • Supervise and mentor the Associate Director of Technology, as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Experience working collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Experience with technology platforms and digital tools, such as Microsoft 365, Canva, MailChimp, and website CMS tools.
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues in virtual or hybrid environments.

Must-Have Skills / Personal Attributes

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Proficient in website updates.
  • Proficient in office management tools, such as MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Previous experience on a Board of Directors.

  • Previous experience in a volunteer position.
