PMI-NL Board Elections Are Open!

Are you ready to take your project management career to the next level while giving back to your local professional community? The Project Management Institute Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter (PMI-NL) is officially calling for nominations for its upcoming Board of Directors election!

Serving on the PMI-NL Board is an incredible opportunity to develop your executive leadership skills, expand your professional network, and directly influence the growth of project management in our province.

What Roles Are Available?

The Board relies on dedicated volunteers to steer the chapter’s strategic vision. Openings for 2-year terms (commencing January 1st, 2027) typically include critical portfolios such as:

  • Director of Growth: Developing outreach strategies, leading sponsorship initiatives, and fostering corporate relationships.
  • Director of Administration: Ensuring smooth chapter governance, managing schedules, and keeping Board operations organized.
  • Director of Technology: Overseeing digital tools, Microsoft 365 environments, and maintaining the chapter’s online presence.

Why You Should Step Up

  • Leadership Growth: Gain hands-on board governance experience that translates directly to executive-level career opportunities.
  • Local Impact: Help design the professional development programs, networking events, and symposiums that shape NL’s project management landscape.
  • Earn PDUs: Earn Professional Development Units (PDUs) toward maintaining your PMI certifications through your volunteer leadership service.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, you must be a PMI member and a PMI Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter member in good standing. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic team players who can commit roughly 5 to 10 hours per month and attend monthly meetings (held virtually or in person in St. John's).
