Kelly Simms is a passionate Project Management Professional with over ten years' experience spanning multiple industries. From large-scale Construction projects to e-learning and software development, Kelly brings a diverse portfolio of PM skills and approach. Born and raised in St. John's, Kelly is a proven leader, a proud professional and a strong team player. She is people-focused and has always championed strong relationships and open communication as the key to successful project management. A graduate of the Gardiner Center's MCPM program, Kelly earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) designation in 2012. An active mother of three, she is currently the Vice President, Operations with Bluedrop in St. John's, NL.

Bill Morrissey is a part-time consultant with Morrissey Consulting and trainer teaching project management communications and stakeholder management. He retired in 2018 as Associate Director with Memorial University’s Gardiner Centre – the corporate training arm of the Faculty of Business Administration – where his primary responsibility was business development. Bill has both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Education and has taught in the formal secondary education system as well as at Memorial University. Bill began taking training in project management in 1999 when he was in the first Masters Certificate in Project Management class in Newfoundland through York University. He was awarded his Project Management Professional (PMP) designation in 2013. He has served the Board of PMINL since 2015 in the positions of Secretary, Vice-President, President and continues to serve as immediate Past-President.

As a Senior IT consultant, Susan enjoys the challenge that comes from managing IT projects across a variety of industries and platforms. Susan has expertise with software development / COTS implementations, as well as infrastructure upgrades. Her focus has primarily been enterprise clients in both the public and private sectors (including Johnson Insurance, City of Calgary, Bermuda Telephone and various departments and agencies of GNL).

In addition to receiving her Masters Certificate in Project Management (MCPM) in 2005, Susan also holds several intermediate-level ITIL certifications. Susan has been a member of PMI since 2006.

Dana Penney has been working in the field of construction for over 20 years managing projects that scale from office buildings to large residential projects.

A professional project manager with progressive corporate experience, she has the proven ability to manage multiple priorities and to balance client needs and project / construction demands. Receiving her Project Management Professional (PMP) designation in 2012 has assisted her in providing cost effective and innovative projects by fostering cohesive relationships with stakeholders, professional consultants and construction trades.

Dana is currently working as a project manager for Arguson Projects in St. John's and Moncton NB with a large client base including Blue Cross and the Province of New Brunswick, as well as with Memorial University assisting in the completion of their Energy Project.

Dwayne has over 20 years experience in the information technology industry including the implementation of commercial and custom software solutions for telecommunication, financial and government industries. Dwayne is an experienced project manager known for identifying efficiencies and eliminating cost overruns, driving continuous improvement to optimize operations, coordinating complex logistics and meeting key deliverables. He has a demonstrated history of success with over 200 complex global development projects delivered to date. A teambuilder with excellent communication skills.

Dwayne earned his Project Management Professional (PMP) designation in 2008.

John is an accomplished executive with more than 35 years of progressive leadership experience within the retail industry. His past experience includes various senior positions with several large corporations encompassing grocery, general merchandise, building material and beverage alcohol industries. John has acquired strong communication, operational and project management skills which have enabled him to excel in these retail industries.

He has assumed key roles that include project development and execution as well as management of large retail operations teams. Currently, he is the Vice President of Operations for the Paint Shop / Access Moore Décor Alliance. His responsibilities include business development and operational support for more than 600 corporate and independent retail locations nationally.

John earned a Certificate in OH&S from the College of the North Atlantic in 2012. He also graduated with a Master’s Certificate in Project Management through Memorial University’s Gardiner Center in 2015 and then achieved a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation in 2018.

Ashley Kapoor was introduced to project management on the job and has developed her skills as a project manager by managing e-Learning and software development projects. She enjoys the challenges associated with the project lifecycle and fosters a collaborative and fun atmosphere with her project team. She spends her days working with the software development team at Bluedrop.

 

Ashley received her Masters Certificate in Project Management (MCPM) in 2015 and her PMP designation in 2016. Ashley has been a member of PMI since 2013 and is currently serving as the Director of Membership with the PMI NL Chapter.

Mahdiyeh has done her studies in Chemical & Process Engineering. She moved to Newfoundland in 2017 for the education purpose. Currently she is working with the OGM (Our Great Minds) magazine. She has a passion for establishing strategic relationships that develop novel approaches to address real-world problems. Achieving experience of developing partnerships between universities, not-for-profits, and private organisations, leverages her background and expertise in project management, and business development.

Considered an outgoing and self-driven engineer who is particularly passionate about long-term environmental sustainability and management. She is all about learning new things and leveraging her network in academia and industry to elevate her brand as an Engineer who Processes the Digital Sales. Being a member of PMI-NL since 2019, she is now supporting the local chapter as the Director of Communications & Public Relations.
