PMI-NL Volunteer Opportunity - Join the PMI-NL Board!

As an Executive Officer of the Board, the Treasurer will work with the Vice-President and President to ensure an annual financial plan is prepared, and the financial goals for the Chapter are met. 

Key Points

  • This is a mid-term replacement which will expire Dec 31, 2021
  • You can expect to spend approximately 8-10 hours per month on Board activities
  • Attendance at monthly board meetings is mandatory (7 pm first Wed each month)
  • You must be a member of PMI®NL in good standing for the duration of your term.  

Responsibilities

  • Manage all Chapter financial transactions including
    • collection of all Chapter dues from PMI®, guest payments from sponsored events, contributions from Chapter sponsors
    • payment of approved operating expenses
  • Manage expense reporting and check preparation 
  • Develop annual operating budget
  • Develop annual financial statements
  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements to the Board 
  • Provide input for the annual Chapter reports to PMI 
  • Interface to the bank for banking issues 
  • Interface to the accounting service provider for annual statement preparation
  • Maintain and deliver all permanent records to the position successor as required 

Qualifications and must-have skillset

  • Experience managing an operational budget
  • Knowledge of financial planning, financial record keeping
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles 
  • Analytical thinking, communication, and documentation skills 
  • Skilled in strategic planning and process execution
  • Experience in a volunteer role and/or experience with PMI®NL would be an asset
